In order to recognise major achievements which have influenced the international hospitality sector, PKF hotelexperts has initiated the "Hospitality Innovation Award". Each year, it is given to an outstanding individual or organisation. The award ceremony will take place during the gala evening on 6 October 2011.

In 2010 the award was granted to Helmut Kuttin, President of SOS-Kinderdorf International and the SOS-Kinderdorf Foundation. SOS-Kinderdorf stands for an exceptional and important form of hospitality.  The prize money which comes with this award, will contribute to the construction of the new SOS-Kinderdorf centre in Bremen, announced Elke Tesarczyk, Vice President of SOS-Kinderdorf Germany, in her acceptance speech.
