Hotel Property Award
In the course of hotelforum 2008, the European hotel development conference, the price for the best hotel property has been awarded for the sixth time.
This award is targeted to a hotel property distinguishing itself from its competitors in terms of a harmonious concept of architecture, design and innovation. In this context it is not important whether the property is a luxury or budget hotel, whether it belongs to a chain or is run on a private basis. However, it is crucial that the above mentioned elements are combined in a way that creates a successful hotel concept. The award ceremony took place during the gala evening of the hotelforum conference at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich on 8 October 2008.
The winner of the Hotel Property Award 2008 is:

Hospitality Innovation Award
In order to recognise major achievements which have influenced the international hospitality sector, PKF hotelexperts has initiated the Hospitality Innovation Award. Each year, it is given to an outstanding individual or organisation. The prize money of € 5,000 shall be given to a charity organisation selected by the award winner. The award ceremony took place during the gala evening on 8 October 2008.
In 2007, the award was granted to Carlo Petrini, founder and international president of the Slow Food Movement.
This year, the award was granted to Peter-Mario Kubsch, Managing Director of Studiosus Reisen. His commitment to sustainability, environmental protection and social responsibility will be honoured. Peter-Mario Kubsch was able to convince the jury through consequently adhering to the company’s principles and values, which are characterised by a high degree of responsibility – towards clients and employees as well as foreign cultures and the environment. “Studiosus and its employees aim at contributing to a process of getting-to-know and understanding foreign countries, people and cultures and thus overcoming prejudices and hostility”, emphasizes Kubsch. “From the very beginning, it was pivotal for us that all our offers were ecologically justifiable and characterized by a focus on social responsibility.” Peter-Mario Kubsch took over the family business from his father, the founder Werner Kubsch, in 1992. Studiosus offers about 1,000 itineraries in over 100 countries and is market leader in the field of study travel. The company counts 270 employees and 650 tour guides.
