GBI AG was founded in May 2007. It is a joint subsidiary of GBI mbH & Co. KG and Frankonia Vermögensverwaltungs-und Beteiligungsgesellschaft. Since 2001, the group of companies with its core business of project development of hotel real estate has implemented and sold more than 20 projects with a total volume of around EUR 400 million.

Since 100 years Merten stands for high technology, design and consulting and solutions for intelligent hotel buildings. Until today the enterprise has its headquarter in Wiehl, Germany. From that time on then we have come a long way with 600 employees and over 40 agencies world-wide. Since June 2006 and with an annual turnover of 130 millions euro Merten is a part of the international successfull Schneider Electric group.
