Hospitality Innovation Award 2012
Ursula Schelle-Müller and Dieter Müller, founders of the Motel One received the Hospitality Innovation Award in 2012. This prize, awarded by the PKF hotelexperts, was handed over during the hotelforum gala evening on October 10, 2012.
The Hospitality Innovation Award is being given by PKF hotelexperts since 2007 in recognition of significant accomplishments which had a lasting impact on the international hotel industry. Among others Carlo Petrini (Slow Food), Peter-Mario Kubsch (Studiosus) and Helmut Kutin (SOS-Kinderdorf) were the winners of this award in the recent years. Prize money connected to the award in the amount of 2.500 euro will be given by the award winners to the association brotZeit e.V.

On the occasion of this anniversary we would like to honour the outstanding entrepreneurial achievements of Ursula Schelle-Müller and Dieter Müller with a Special Award. Their performance is based on the development of a matching overall budget hotel concept and consistent implementation thereof. The Motel One is from now on a German hotel brand that has potential for expansion in Europe and probably even all over the world ".
About the award winner:
Activities of the Motel One Group are focused within the group of One Hotels & Resorts AG. The aim is to develop the Motel One into the European quality leader in the budget hotels segment. The three success factors - location, quality and price - form the basis thereof. Motel One has at the moment representation in Germany an Austria with 39 hotels and approximately 8.500 rooms and about 1.000 employees engaged. Another 22 hotels with about 5.800 rooms are under construction or in the project phase, inter alia in Edinburgh, Brussels, Vienna, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Berlin.
