hotelforum launches the “Hotel Property Award 2020” competition
Applications will be accepted until 31 July 2020
Berlin, 2nd June 2020 – hotelforum has launched this year’s invitation to take part in the “Hotel Property Award 2020” competition. Andreas Martin, Managing Director of hotelforum management GmbH: “Despite the worldwide corona pandemic, we will still be holding the European competition once again this year. We feel that it is especially important at this time for us to look to the future together and address the innovative hotel concepts of tomorrow.”
With this competition, hotelforum targets hotels that were completed and opened in Europe between January 2019 and July 2020. Andreas Martin: “In this situation, we are of course also addressing hotels which have had to postpone their opening due to the pandemic and government regulations, and which may also have only very few guests at present.
This year’s competition is once again looking for new hotel concepts which reinterpret the hotel alphabet of tomorrow, influenced by the increasingly digital environment in which generations XYZ are living. With the Hotel Schgaguler from Castelrotto/Kastelruth in South Tyrol, the Schgaguler family of the same name reached across the generations, and received the ‘Hotel Property Award’ last year. We want to pay special attention to innovative hoteliers and hotel concepts in the current economic situation, which is difficult for everyone.”
The Award targets both hotel developers, owners and operators, as well as architects and interior designers. The European industry award welcomes applications from city and holiday hotels all over Europe which stand out from their competitors through a successful interplay between architecture and design as well as innovation. hotelforum regards a homogeneous combination of the individual aspects to form a winning, economically-successful hotel concept as crucial, regardless of the category into which a particular hotel falls. Applications can be made online, and participation will be free of charge.
Andreas Martin: “We will be holding this year’s hotelforum on Wednesday, 7 October for the first time as a virtual conference under the motto ‘The ABC of XYZ – new generations, new rules’. We will present and award the nominees, the finalists and the winner of the competition during the conference.”
The prestigious prize will be awarded for the 18th time this year. An expert jurywill select up to ten nominees from among all the applicants in early September.
The application deadline for participation is 31 July, and the application forms are available at
